About Drover's Cottage
John, Lucy and Harvey moved to the West Lothian area of Harperrig, near Edinburgh, in 1995. Two weeks after they moved in, they were swiftly joined by Lily and together they have spent the last 14 years wondering how they could lived any where else!
One of the first projects they tackled was renovating the very old and tumbled down shed next door to their house into a holiday cottage. With a bit of local information and research, they discovered that this ‘old shed’ had been the original drovers post house. This had serviced the cattle and sheep drovers whilst they stopped to rest as they travelled through the West Lothian Pentland Hills, along the drovers path, (Look out for map in cottage!)
