Visitor Book 2010
Our visitors are many varried from young families to groups of friends, retired couples to folk on business. Whoever they are and for what ever reason they come, we value the comments and feedback they leave behind. It's what makes the job worthwhile! Here are just some of the nice things our visitors have written in our visitors book!
Thanks for a lovely stay - cottage was cosy and welcoming for a great family reunion, birthday and introducing the new kiwi grandson to the scottish family!
Great setting, comfortable accomodation and a big thanks to Lucy for all your help.
What a beautiful place - we've really enjoyed our stay - Ruby has looked forward to coming back to her "little house" everyday. We have enjoyed the peace and quite and the lovely views. We had a day at the beach at North Berwick which was super and of course a day at the zoo. The children loved both - and rolling down the grass bank at the cottage! Feeding the pigs with scraps from tea was also a highlight.
Thank you for making us so welcome.
We enjoyed feeding the pigs and hens and would have been tempted to take Myrtle with us if she had appeared this morning. I think we put Stanley out before we left........! We had a great week
Lovely cottage and easy to get to so many places. Animals provided lots of fun and pictures! Camera Obscura is very good but has a lot of steps. Allow lots of time.
My family and I very much enjoyed your cottage. It has a very nice feel to it. I love the country out here and Scotland! Everyone looks forward to returning. I will definately be back in the near future. Hope you enjoy the rest of your summer. Thanks so much ......
We walked, we went by train to Glasgow and Edinburgh, by the little ship the canal tour in Linlithgow. Visited nearly each castle we passed, ate blueberrys in the Pentlands!! We have had a good time in this house.
"We had an enjoyable and pleasant week, the cottage is lovely and in an adyllic spot. The older Fitzpatricks enjoyed a series of walks in the Pentland Hills while the younger two members spent their time between Livingston and Edinburgh skateparks. Thanks to Lucy for the warm welcome!"
"The cottage has been all we wanted, quiet, well stocked and in the fantastic location for exploring the Pentlands. We will certainly be back at a later date."
"We have had a lovely week here in Scotland. The train from Kirknewton is a quick and easy way into Edinburgh. The sheet and hills have been a joy to watch everyday and the cottage has been a lovely place to stay. The peace and quiet has been wonderful, we hope to say again in the future."
"What a lovely tranquil place! Just to sit and listen to the birds and watch the sheep is enough! The weather has been very kind to us and the final day was wall to wall sunshine. Thank you!"
"A lovely restful week. We've really enjoyed our second stay here. The weather has been good too, although we've not been outside too much, it's a peaceful place to stay. Thank you!"
"In a week spent preparing for a wedding, what better place to stay than a tranquil have overlooking the Pentlands, and close to transport. Thank you for having us."
"We have been very comfortable in the cottage and have appreciated the peaceful location. We particularly enjoyed walking "over the top" on the Drover's Road to West Linton (3 hours each way) and the New Lanark Village world heritage site which we found interesting, informative and value for money! Thank you for a great week."
"Another loverly week was had by the Starks in our favourite county retreat, definately home from home for us made extra special by Lucy, John, Harvey and Lily. We had a few really snowy days and everyone mucked in to help us keep the car moving and to keep us warm. We will back and maybe sooner than next Easter!"
"We had a really nice weekend in your cottage, just what we needed! such a beautiful area and lots to see nearby. We particularly liked Linlithgow and recommend it as a place to visit. Its sad to leave, thank you very much Lucy."
"Beautiful scenery, lovely, homely cottate, all the familty together, what a great weekend! Thank you for a warm welcome and an attractive, clean, well equipped cottage."
"A wonderful Drovers Cottage is a lovely peaceful place. All the facilities and hospitality provided made us feel homely. Lucy, thanks for the patience and offering service with a beautiful smile. My uncle and aunt visited us from India and were amazed by the beautiful white snowy scenary."
"Very comfortable and relaxing and the snow added a new dimension to my birthday! thank you both for digging and towing us out of the snowdrifts. We shall have to come back again now to do the walks we missed! Many thanks."
