Visitor Book 2011

Visitor Book Drovers CottageHere are some of the comments left in our visitors book for those people staying in Drovers Holiday Cottage over 2011.  New to this year, we have introduced feedback forms for our customers to fill in which will help us improve the standard of service in our self catering holiday cottage. We want to be the best little cottage in West Lothian near Edinburgh!

Thanks for a lovely place to stay for our exploring of Edinburgh.  Our first time in this area and will definately like to visit again.

We made great friends with the chickens, pigs and cats. Had a lovely walk to the top of the big hill and soaked up the changing colours of the landscape.

Thanks again for your hospitality.

To quote Gareth (aged 9)  - "this place is AWESOME and I'd like to come back here please!"

We agree - what a place! Such a lovely welcome with "rocky road" from Lily - delicious! The views were all amazing, Gareth loves the chickens and pigs, we all love the wind turbine and the cottage is such a peaceful haven to return to each day. Thank you so much for letting us meet Madam Hooch!

There really are not enough superlatives or exclamation marks to express what a fabulous time we've had - so sad to leave, and we WILL be back!!!

Had a fantastic chilling holiday even though the weather wasn't too kind at times. Our grand-daughter got to meet her great gran which was the main object of our stay.  She loved the animals too.  We will definately be back again in the future.  The hosts were lovely and made us very welcome.

My husband had a days fishing on the reservoir and caught his first trout "on the fly!"

Peace perfect peace!  A beautiful cottage in a picturesque landscape. Perfect for a bit of R & R!

Thanks for all the leaflets and help you were willing to give us - not to mention the cake! Yummy! And borrowing the canoe and kayak.

Thank you so much and God Bless.

PS. The "Spit fire" is really cool and the pigs are fantastic!

Thank you for the warm welcome and cakes!

A lovely cottage in beautiful countryside.

The park & ride in Hermiston is really useful to get into Edinburgh - driving in there is......interesting!

Many thanks for a lovely holiday.

Although fairly remote situation, we did not find this a problem and dispite the inclement weather towards the end of the week, we did not have any problem getting around using the car on short journeys and on the train into Edinburgh from Kirknewton. We were able to visit all the attractions we had planned to visit.  Many thanks for your kind hospitality.

Coming from Germany, we spent a lovely week in this very nice cottage in great and relaxing environment.  Scotland is really huge and we have to come back to see the rest of Scotland!

Thank you for being here!

Am writing this at the end of two lovely weeks here at Harperrig.  Skye (4) and Alexander (2) would definately say the highlights of the holiday have been swimming and splashing in the fun pool at Livingston (we totalled 4 visits!), playing with the superfriendly ca here (and feeding the pigs from a safe distance!) the fantastic waterplay area at Falkirk Wheel and the 'nutty bouncer' at the very good Almondvale Heritage Park.

We enjoyed the first class Bo'Ness steam railway and Edinburgh Zoo.

Its been good to get out and do some running in this scenic place - so peacefull and still.

Thanks Lucy for letting the kids feed the chickens and collect some eggs - they were delicious too!

A great place in the country. Quiet and tucked away in a rural environment yet only half an hour to plenty.

In Australia we often refer to home as 'The Luck Country', Scotland is a beautiful place the people friendly. We have much in common.  Until our paths cross again - Thank you.

Perfectly remote, relaxing, refreshing and rewarding. Notwithstanding breezy winds and scattered showers. Truly Scotland!

Not sure how many times we have stayed in this lovely cottage now, but it feels like home, really brilliant. We love that it has everything we could possibly wish for in a country retreat and is close to so many amenities.

We came up for a wedding in Kirknewton House Stables and stayed for a week.  The views are truely fantastic and Charlie the labrador has had some great walks and swims.  We enjoyed Edinburgh - open bus tours - a good way to see a lot.  We also went on Britannia in Leith which was really fascinating.

Really enjoyed our stay at this welcoming little cottage. The children don't want to go home - and nor do we!

We saw a beautiful owl flying across the fields near the bridge.  Loved your pigs - can't believe how much they eat!

Lovely trip! Thanks.

Not the usual reason for a holiday in beautiful surroundings.

Our daughter's fifth pregnancy was a huge problem and Drovers Cottage allowed us to help without "intruding." The baby arrived with haste and it was a delight to be here and welcome him into our family.

We have fitted in 5 of the Antony Gormley figures in the Water of Leith. The Museum of Modern Art has always been a favourite.  New Lanark was a good visit, keeping us all healthy. Would love to walk some of the Drover's Road, therefore we will have to return in the summer!
